Obama’s Energy Policy
During his race to the White House, Barrack Obama always mentioned that American people also have the responsibility to prevent global climate change. He also mentioned that he has a strong commitment to renewable energy. After Obama elected to be the United State’s president, can he realize his promise?
Obama administration has a big concern to energy issues. He released proposal for energy overhaul to ensure more energy efficiency. He also keeps his commitment about clean energy with his regulation to lowering the energy dependable to oil and coal. Obama’s democratic administration look to renewable energy and set up a standard of 25% national energy comes from renewable resource before 2025.
Obama is highly inspired by the success of the California in renewable energy development. It reflects from many Californians inside his energy team. Steven Chu, a Nobel laureate and a clean energy scientist approved to be the Secretary of Energy. It reflects the importance of renewable energy for Obama’s administration. Other Californians are former Los Angeles Major Nancy Sutley and Berkeley Professor John Hodren. The success of California is going to be a benchmark for a new national energy blueprint from Obama’s energy team. Can we believe in Obama’s energy policy? We will know then.
